A Message From Mother Nature?

1. What is the main point of this article?
- The main point of this article is how the global warming effects the environment
2. Vocabularies:
- Drought- a period of dry weather
- Monsoon- any wind that changes direction with the seasons
- Dispute- argument about something important
- Perception- apprehending (understanding)
3. Weather- something that happens over a short period of time (rain, snow, etc.)
Climate- something that happens over a long period of time (Vietnam: wet and dry climate)
4. Torrential monsoon rains in Pakistan caused flood
In the United States, flooding battered New England, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma
A record-breaking heat wave baked the entire eastern part of the country
5. These days in Ho Chi Minh City it rains everyday, and almost like heavy rain, so even some of the streets are flood.
6. Perception means understanding something.
7. My perception of global climate change is the Earth’s get hotter. If people don't want global warming to happen, they have to start to save the earth by doing little things like: save energy (use less), stop cutting down the trees, reuse the papers, water bottle, boxes, and more. By doing these little jobs, it saves the Earth a lot.

UNICORN LAND

My “world” named Unicorn. Do you know why I called that the Unicorn Land? Because of the shape of the country, and also a lot of unicorns live there. People use unicorns as their transportations. One hundred years ago, people came to Mahani forest, where the unicorns used to live, and they cut down all the trees. So the Unicorns decided to move to the different places. At that time, “Unicorn Land” was just a small island, so the Unicorns came to this island to live, because no one has heard of this island before. Also, this small island was not on the maps. This island was surrounded by Lattetania and the Blood Sea.

One day, there was a person who traveled around the world, and he was lost in this island, where the unicorns live. His name was Hatami Onicon. He was the first person who came to the Unicorn Land. He expanded this land, and put this “world” on the maps. He divided this island into 4 different countries: SHINEwol, SoOne, Cassiopeia, and VIP. The biggest country was Cassiopeia, and the capital of this is Dong Bang which means east. The most famous country was also Cassiopeia because of they make good chocolate, and they have nice atmosphere.

People started to come here to live, because here have a lot of forests, mountains, and nice air. Kids really love this place, because they can eat chocolate and drink chocolate everyday without getting sick. People here only eat and drink chocolate, not like other countries, they eat different kind of foods. That is why there is a Chocolate River flows from SHINEwol all the way to VIP, and that is the longest rivers in this “world”. And the highest mountain is Superunican Mt (above Cassiopeia), it about 9,000 meters tall. There are few of people who lived there, because it too cold. On the top of mountains are all chocolate. People can’t eat
these chocolate because it never melts.

My Unicorn Land and Cattletinra had a fight. We fight for 3 islands which are: Denndash, Unicanoe, and Cattletinrany. We, both like to have those islands, but we can’t decided who will have it, so we fight. We won two of three islands, and the Cattletinra only won one (Cattletinrany).

Although this island have excellent environment, but sometimes the people from SHINEwol have to bear the tsunami. Each year, it happens once, the people here can’t bear it anymore, so they moved to others countries to live.

What I’ve Learnt…

This project helps me to know more about my friends, their cultures, and also include my family. I learned that even though we may all come from Vietnam, but we have different ways of celebrate our holidays, or cultures. Before this presentation, I didn’t really know where exactly my family comes from, and so I asked my mom, and she told me everything. I know that on my dad side, they are part of Chinese, but I didn’t know my mom side was Chinese also. She told me where my great grandmother used to live, and how she came to Vietnam. She also told me how my great grandmother met my great grandfather. She told me how she had Vietnamese last name, but her family was Chinese.

There were another thing that I like about this project is I found out that Wendy is Nguyen Trai’s great great great great granddaughter. I was very surprised when she said that, because Nguyen Trai was a very famous Vietnamese’s general.
