Migration/Immigrant Assignment
I was in my room reading a book, and suddenly heard my cousin yell. Her mom told her she had to immigrate to Canada and live with her grandparents, but my cousin didn’t want to. This is an external migration, because she was moving from country to country. Her mom tried to convince her by telling her that she would go to good school with lots of new friends. That was the pull factors, which she could get better services, and good environment. In Vietnam , the weather here was not so good, because sometimes it got really hot, and sometimes it too rainy. These were the push factors, which were because of the climates and the environment. The moment my cousin heard her mom say that, she wanted to migrate there. After a long time, she became a citizen.
In school, she didn’t talk much, because she didn’t get used to the environment yet. She thought it was a bad idea for coming here. Now, after a long time, she gets used to it. She met new friends, new teachers, talked to them just like she did in Vietnam . She told me it was great, and she loved here. She thought Canada was the most wonderful country. Even though, sometimes she did forgot Vietnamese cultures, languages, but still she found out the ways for her to remember it. Sometimes she misses Vietnam a lot, but she knew that her mom wanted her to stay here for good things, and this was the best choice her mom had made it for her.
Does she speak Vietnamese at home and celebrate any Vietnamese holidays? I think she has the same problem with Antonia before.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she does speak Vietnamese at home, but not much. Sometimes she has to try to explain it in English. I think they celebrate Tet holiday too.
